So many thanks for lending me your ears
I’ll see you here again In ten more years
…
(around ten years later)
So now I’m older, and not given in to quite as childish a rhyme – so today I present a sonnet entitled
Ode to an OWL
(by Jim Hendler)
Some say Semantic Web has gone away
ChatGPT and LLMs -the rage
Creating tons of texts to fill a page
Have knowledge-based AI outlived its day?
But look deeply at what these models do
A litany of errors does emerge
This poem’s to celebrate, it’s not a dirge
I’m thrilled with the great work that you all do.
For Knowledge graphs, ontologies, and schemes
We still need as way to reach AI
And thus I’m glad you all have found a home
here in this work ISWC explores these themes
Our vision stays alive – and thus say I
I’ll see you ten years hence with a new poem.
